Have you ever turned around and found a whole new photo opportunity? My wife and I were at the end of the boardwalk, where I sat waiting for the wind to move the long grasses around the tree frogs. I finally got a clear shot—and heard a Green Heron behind me. I stood up, turned around, and there it was in a tree about 100 yards away. Off I went! The heron was backlit and soon took flight, so the photos weren’t perfect. That’s how the walk went, though: one moment I was waiting on a frog, and the next I was chasing a glimpse of a heron. Tree frogs have sticky toe pads that help them cling to plants. I guess that heron wanted me to branch out.

A green frog faces slightly left on a dark leaf with holes, its broad face, pale mouth stripe, folded legs, and rounded toe pads visible between blurred foreground leaves.

A Green Frog Among the Leaves 🐸 Can you spot the frog tucked among the stems? Its green body blends into the sunlit leaves, with one eye peeking out beside a vertical stalk. This little hide-and-seek expert is all green with envy from the leaves!
